Meet Jira Shapshots

“Make release reports easy peasy”

What our customers
think

This app helps us to have a clear overview of Jira tasks in one table, which can be then shown to customers, who do not have access to Jira. That also makes it easily editable, as we can just edit the issue in Jira and then take a new snapshot. Comparing different versions of snapshots is a nice and useful bonus for us.

This app is exactly what we needed to bridge the gap between agile development using Jira and regulatory requirements for the technical documentation in Confluence. The multi-level tables are super useful to demonstrate traceability and time-stamped static snapshots allow for visualization throughout the various phases of product development. Great support from Radbee.

We tried other solutions but this one has the best ease of use and fantastic support. Very useful plugin for traceability in SaMD with the multiple levels option, that acts has “sub-queries” The X-Ray integration for test reports is great, I’m looking forward to more features

“This is a very nice app that we added into our environment. It is both effective and simple to install. The support team behind it is also very responsive and helpful.

Our particular use case was for sharing sprint status and release notes with our end users. Without this add-in, we would have had to provide Jira Software licenses for end users to be able to see the status of stories. That’s a lot of money just to see “In Progress” turn into “Done”. With this helpful add-on, we are able to provide transparency to our users with a minimum of expense.”

“Very Happy with this Plugin, exactly what I was looking for.”

“This is something I was waiting for years! If you need to keep a record of your issues at a specific time (this is the case in medical device industry), this is a perfect solution. Once you make a snapshot, it will not change when the linked issues are changed in Jira, they will be “frozen” in the moment of the snapshot. The native Confluence solution uses dynamic linking, and you can’t use it for controlled records.”

“Exact Imaging develops ultra-high resolution ultrasound for prostate applications. We have started tracking our requirements in Jira, but still need to keep a history in a controlled document. I tried doing this with Confluence, but the published documents only store the query, not the results of the query.
With Snapshots, we can record the exact state of the Jira issues at the time the document is generated.
We have configured the generated documents to record in perfect detail exactly what we need.”

“Magnus Medical is developing a new medical device and we are using Jira / XRay / Confluence to manage our requirements, specs and tests. When we first checked out Jira Snapshots, I wasn’t sure if it gave us enough control and leverage.

Luckily, the app extends Jira’s JQL, which allows executing queries in succession, mapping one level to the next, and filtering items based on the previous level. It also supports our custom fields and integrates well with XRay. This allows us to easily create traceability matrices and documents mapping requirements to tests to test executions. Super useful!

We can create reports consisting of several snapshots and integrate it within our own documentation. RadBee’s support is also first class. We started with the plugin shortly after the first release and ran into some initial problems, but these were resolved quickly, thanks to Rina’s help.”

From automated tests to test reports with Xray for Jira and Jira Snapshots

Article – 5 minute read

Having a wide collection of automated tests can boost your release cadence. But what if running the automated tests is not enough? If you are in a regulated industry, you need to show test coverage. A traceability report that links specifications with tests and test runs. Most DevOps pipelines for automated tests produce test reports that are not linked to your stories. Consequently, you have to cobble reports from different files and platforms, scrambling to close the formatting and context gaps.
